Amway Research and Development
When it comes to Amway products and helping people live better, healthier lives, the more than 800 scientists, engineers and technical professionals that comprise the Amway Research and Development division are committed to continuous innovation.
That means they’re hard at work in the 75+ global Amway research labs dedicated to all stages of product development, testing, manufacturing and distribution. As a result, Amway has more than 750 patents and patents pending.
Allies in health & wellbeing innovation
But members of the Amway R&D division know that innovative ideas and discoveries are not limited to their own labs. They can come from anywhere. That’s why part of their commitment to continuous innovation means that Amway scientists also collaborate with outside experts, including respected universities, institutes and trade associations in the global health and wellbeing industry.
Collaboration ensures they are on the cutting edge of research findings that can help people live better and healthier for longer. Here are some of Amway’s professional and industry partners.
University & institute collaborations
The Amway Research Fund supports the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, which does research focused on extending people’s healthspan – the number of years a person is able to enjoy an active, independent life.
The collaboration centers around research of the body’s microbiome, the influence plants have on overall gut health and monitoring emerging research that might indicate the potential for further studies as well as new products or programs.
The Amway Nutrilite Health Institute Wellness Fund supports Stanford WELL for Life at the Stanford School of Medicine in California. The WELL study, independently operated by Stanford University, is a first-of-its-kind research study. It analyzes how diet, lifestyle and environment can affect long-term wellness and healthy aging. Researchers hope to develop recommendations for improving wellbeing for populations across the world.
Private innovation collaborations
Amway is a minority owner of Human Effective Microbes Pharma Inc., or HEM Pharma, in South Korea, a company that focuses on microbiome and gut health research to support people with challenges or diseases related to gut microbiome dysfunction.
Scientific advisor relationships
Amway’s science, technology, research and product development is also bolstered by Amway Scientific Advisors, a group of leading academic experts in the fields of health and wellbeing.
The advisors support Amway by providing feedback on current and future science direction, advising on research activities, offering science-based recommendations and facilitating new collaborations with leading institutions.
Industry or trade association partnerships
Many of the scientists in the Amway Research and Development division are also active, contributing members of several health and wellness industry organizations:
